Dexter Australian Shepherd Adult - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Manhattan, Kansas

Hey guys! Dexter here to update you on my new way of life. To sum it all up into one word, I think the best fit would be...BORING! My foster mom (Fossie for short) has me focusing on calming down. She doesn't let me bark at anything! I love my daily walks but I'm supposed to stay in heel 90% of the time. I only get to smell and potty when she's says it's ok. I used to drag people to anything and everything that looked like it would smell good, but NO MORE. She won't even let me bark and growl at dogs or other humans that walk by us. I used to be the protector but now Fossie has it handled. It's actually making me feel much safer. She keeps me kenneled while she's away. It's one of my favorite places! I even go in there on my own to sleep when I'm tired. I find comfort in my kennel because it's my very own space.

I have one cat and four dog foster siblings to hang out with. I like them all, big and small, but I'm a big boy (~70 lbs) and play pretty rough. Fossie said I need to work on that, too. It's so hard because I LOVE to play. I'm a big softy who loves cuddles, too. I beg and beg for them. Once I get a good scratching, I grumble and smile to show I'm happy. Fossie said that kinda scares people but she also said I remind her of Elvis.

Anyway, I need to get going. Fossie mentioned something about taking me to help buy lawn seed tomorrow. She said I better rest up because it'll be a lot of stimulation. Whatever that is. Until next time...
